Changing Your Plan (Upgrade or Downgrade)
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan yourself from Settings > Billing. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep what you have already paid for.
How leases count toward your plan
Each plan allows a maximum number of active leases. Active and draft leases count toward this limit. Leases that have concluded (reached their end date) or been formally terminated do NOT count: they stay fully available and are retained for the 7-year FRS 102 audit trail, they simply no longer use a paid slot. A lease with a deletion request filed is also treated as already removed. Capacity add-on blocks add to the limit on top of this.
Downgrading your plan
Choose the lower plan in Settings > Billing and confirm. The change is scheduled for the end of your current billing period. Before you can downgrade you must already be within the lower plan's lease limit (completed and terminated leases do not count). While a downgrade is scheduled, new lease creation is paused so you cannot exceed the new limit; deleting or requesting deletion of leases still works.

If you have no active subscription
If your subscription has been cancelled or you have no payment method on file, there is nothing to downgrade. Subscribe to the plan you want directly from the billing page instead.
