Copy a lease to start the next contract
When a lease ends and a new agreement starts for the same asset, you no longer need to set up the new lease from scratch. Open the old lease and choose Copy.
The new lease starts the day after the old one ends, at the rent in force on that day. You add the new reference, end date and discount rate. The landlord, asset, location, payment pattern and portfolio are carried over; options, incentives and all figures start afresh. The new lease opens for review before it goes live, and the old one is left unchanged.
Unless you choose otherwise, the two leases are linked, so each shows which one it continues or is continued by. If you are unsure how to record a renewal, Renew under Add asks two questions and takes you to the right option.
