The payment-free months at the end of a 3 + 33

A vehicle contract hire is usually quoted as an "X + Y" profile: an initial rental worth several months paid up front, then a number of monthly rentals. Lease102 already captured the initial rental. It now also captures how many rentals follow it, in a Number of Recurring Rentals field on the import review screen.

This matters because lessors use two conventions and the length of the term alone cannot tell them apart. On a 48-month agreement with three months up front followed by 47 monthly rentals, every month carries a payment. On a 36-month agreement with three up front and 33 subsequent rentals, all 36 have been collected by the 34th month, so the final two months carry no rental at all.

Lease102 now stops the recurring rent after the number your agreement states and adds a zero-payment period for the rest of the term. On a 36-month lease at £791.46 a month with a £2,374.38 initial rental, the schedule opens at £26,474.12 rather than £27,816.15, and the total rent comes to £28,492.56, exactly the 36 rentals the agreement provides for.

The count is read from the agreement rather than worked out, and you can correct it on the review screen before approving.
