Choose what names each journal in your ledger

In Xero each lease posts as its own journal, and the narration is the text that tells you which lease it is: it shows in the manual journals list and in front of every line when you open a nominal. Sage and Business Central receive one combined journal per run, so there the same identity is carried on each line instead.

Under Settings, Integrations, Journal Narration you can now choose what goes into it: the contract reference, the property, the portfolio, the period, and the "FRS 102 Lease Journals" label. A journal that read "FRS 102 Lease Journals 2026-07-01 to 2026-07-31 - HL-2024-047 | Portfolio: Residential Schemes" can now read "HL-2024-047 | Dudley, West Midlands | Residential Schemes | Jul 2026".

Where the property comes from is yours to set, in order of preference, so a register holding both buildings and vehicles can take the address on one and the registration on the other from a single setting. The settings screen previews the result against your own leases before you save.
